In June of 2009, teachers and administrators from four independent girls' schools, each with over 100 years of experience teaching girls, founded the Online School for Girls. These educators' belief in and commitment to girls convinced them that online educational courses would be an essential part of the highest quality high school experience.
Relying on research indicating that girls interact differently with technology than boys, and committed to independent school values of high admissions standards, small class sizes, and relationships as critical to the learning process, OSG opened it's virtual doors to any girl, anywhere. The Online School for Girls stands alone as the online educational option that understands the unique position girls occupy in the online educational space. In OSG classes, with no more than twenty students, girls are known, appreciated, and with their teacher, create a learning experience with their peers around the world.
Research has established a well-documented advantage in all-girls education. These advantages have been reaping benefits for girls and young women in campus-based all-girls schools for a long time.
Since it's launch in 2009, over twenty additional schools have joined the Online school for Girls at the member or affiliate level. Teachers at the Online School for Girls are experienced scholars and leaders at their home campuses. Our member schools are nationally known for high-achieving students, excellent teaching, and rigorous college preparatory curriculum - within an educational experience grounded in a passionate love of learning and nurtured by faculty constantly engaging in incorporating fresh and novel approaches to their craft.
Our teachers know that girls need to feel strong connections with their peers and with their teachers. They know that girls need to work collaboratively in the classroom. They know that girls need to work creatively. And, they know that girls learn best when applying their knowledge to real-world problems.
Unlike some larger online schools that have fifty or one hundred students in their classes, the Online School for Girls keeps classes small. We do this for a simple reason: girls learn better when they learn in environments where they can connect and collaborate closely with their teachers and their classmates.

the OSG class is an active, engaging classroom experience, as OSG teachers reach
